McLaren driver breaks world champion's two-year winning streak in the city

Lando Norris secured a surprise victory at the F1 Miami Grand Prix today (May 5), breaking Max Verstappen’s two-year winning streak in the US city, reports Damian Hall in Miami.
It is the British driver’s first Grand Prix title, and came after an exhilarating race. He ended with a 6-second lead ahead of Verstappen at the Hard Rock Stadium.
“I finally delivered for my team,” the 24-year-old said in a post race interview. “This is all for the team. I stuck with Mclaren because I believed in them.”
Verstappen had previously claimed the top spot at the Miami Grand Prix since its inception in 2022. “I’m very happy for Lando”, Verstappen said after finishing in 2nd. “This won’t be his last one”.
Charles Leclerc finished in 3rd also praised the McLaren driver.
Sir Lewis Hamilton didn’t miss out on the action either, managing to rise from 8th to finish in 6th chasing down Red Bull second driver Perez.
