After heading into the 2025 Marvel's Fantastic Four London E-Prix hopeful of scoring his first points in Formula E, Zane Maloney’s final race of his rookie season didn’t go to plan.

“Just one of those races that no matter what you do, the fortune just wasn't on our side,” Maloney said. “And to be honest, for me, 0 points, five points, 10 points, that doesn't make a difference to how I'm going into the offseason. I want to be winning races and championships. More bothered about getting the pace better into the next year.”

Despite a clever energy strategy planned by the team, Zane Maloney was forced to battle through multiple setbacks that denied him the result he was aiming for. His race began to unravel after early contact put him into the wall, damaging the front wing of his car. Later in the race, he opted to take Attack Mode, but a disruption on track neutralised any advantage it might have given him.

Still, in a year of firsts for both Maloney and the Lola Yamaha ABT team, London served as another learning experience. The 21-year-old remains focused on development and improvement ahead of the next campaign.

When asked about his plans for the break, Maloney shared: “Take a week off in the sun in Barbados and then back to work. I come back up [to the UK] for testing in the simulator. We have a lot of work to do, a lot to gain, but we know where we need to improve and things are coming, things are in the pipeline in the programme, development stuff. So I'm looking forward to next year.”

Maloney’s rookie campaign may not have ended in points, but the season has laid a solid foundation. With knowledge gained, challenges overcome, and a clear mindset for the year ahead, the young driver remains one to watch.
