Red Bull and Ferrari have brought the most declared car updates for the Italian Grand Prix, while several drivers will also begin the Monza weekend with fresh power unit components.

Red Bull and Ferrari lead Formula 1’s development activity heading into the Italian Grand Prix, with both teams declaring four updated components for this weekend at Monza.

However, the number of components declared does not necessarily indicate the scale of an upgrade, with several teams introducing circuit-specific changes designed specifically for Monza’s high-speed, low-drag demands.

Red Bull’s four changes cover the rear corner, floor body, exhaust tailpipe and front wing. Of those, the revised floor geometry and front wing are performance-focused, while changes to the rear corner and exhaust tailpipe have been introduced for reliability.

Ferrari has also declared four updates for its home Grand Prix, modifying the floor board, mirror stay, rear corner and rear vertical tail. All four are classified as circuit-specific changes aimed at reducing drag, with the corresponding loss of downforce considered a worthwhile trade-off around Monza.

Haas and Williams follow with three declared changes each, although Haas has introduced what appears to be one of the more substantial interconnected packages of the weekend.

The American team has a new floor featuring revised side geometry and an updated diffuser, accompanied by a new sidepod and coke-line, narrower roll-hoop and updated engine cover. Changes have also been made to the rear corner to work with the altered airflow created by the new package.

Williams’ three changes are all circuit-specific, while McLaren, Mercedes, Racing Bulls, Aston Martin, Alpine and Cadillac have each declared two updated components. Audi is the only team to report no updates for the event.

Antonelli and Albon exceed power unit allocations

Away from the aerodynamic developments, Monza will also see a significant number of drivers begin the weekend with fresh power unit components.

Eleven drivers have taken new internal combustion engines: Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz, Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto.

Most remain within their permitted allocation, but Antonelli and Albon have each moved onto a fifth ICE, exceeding the four new internal combustion engines permitted for the season.

Antonelli has also taken a fourth energy store, exceeding the permitted allocation of three, while both he and Albon have moved onto fourth control electronics units, again beyond the permitted allocation of three.

Elsewhere, Leclerc, Hamilton, Sainz, Bearman and Bortoleto have taken new turbochargers, while Piastri, Leclerc, Hamilton, Esteban Ocon, Bearman and Bortoleto have new exhaust sets. George Russell is the only driver taking a new MGU-K.

Max Verstappen takes a new energy store and control electronics unit, while ten drivers have also fitted fresh power unit ancillary components for the weekend. Those changes remain within the permitted allocations identified by the FIA.
