Marco Bezzecchi produced a record-breaking lap at MotorLand Aragón to top Friday Practice at the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon, setting a new all-time MotoGP lap record as Aprilia Racing led the way.
Bezzecchi stopped the clock at 1:45.45, beating the previous Grand Prix weekend benchmark of 1:45.704, set by Marc Márquez during qualifying in 2025.
The Aprilia Racing rider’s record-breaking effort was enough to hold off Álex Márquez of BK8 Gresini Racing by just 0.010 seconds, with Marc Márquez completing an incredibly close top three for Ducati Lenovo Team, only 0.038 seconds from Bezzecchi.
The pace represented a significant step forward from the morning’s opening practice, where Marc Márquez had led with a 1:47.532 ahead of Raúl Fernández and Bezzecchi.
Fabio Di Giannantonio was fourth for Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, 0.299 seconds off the new benchmark, while Fermín Aldeguer put the second BK8 Gresini Racing machine fifth, 0.440 seconds from the top.
British Grand Prix winner Raúl Fernández took sixth for SuperFile Trackhouse, ahead of World Championship leader Jorge Martín, who improved considerably from 18th in the morning to seventh for Aprilia Racing.
Pedro Acosta was eighth for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, with Franco Morbidelli ninth for Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team and Johann Zarco completing the top ten for Castrol Honda LCR.
