ITV will continue to be the home of Formula E in the UK and Ireland after securing a new deal to extend its partnership with the all-electric series. The agreement builds on the existing arrangement first signed in December 2024.
Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be the biggest in the series’ history, featuring 18 races across 12 cities worldwide. Every qualifying session will be shown live on ITVX, while all 18 races will be available either on ITV4 with a simulcast on ITVX, or exclusively on ITVX. More races than ever before will be broadcast live on ITV4 throughout the 2025/26 campaign, with ITV4 also airing a weekly highlights show following each event.
The coverage will continue through to the end of the 2026 season, when Formula E’s new GEN4 car is set to debut.

The landmark season begins on 6 December 2025 with a curtain-raiser on the streets of São Paulo. New venues include Madrid and Miami’s International Autodrome, while established favourites Berlin, Tokyo and Shanghai will return, each staging double-header race weekends. Monaco retains its special status, hosting consecutive races on the famous Monte Carlo street circuit. The season finale once again takes place in London, with a double-header at the Excel London on 15–16 August 2026, bringing the GEN3 Evo era to a close.
Formula E continues to underline its sustainability focus, grouping races by region across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific to reduce freight miles and cut CO2 emissions.
Richard Botchway, Assistant Commissioner of ITV Sport, welcomed the extension, saying:
“It’s an incredibly exciting time for Formula E and we are proud to continue our partnership with them for a further two years. In what is the largest season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship so far, we will continue to bring the very best action free-to-air across ITV4 and ITVX.”
Jonathan Salt, VP of Media at Formula E, added:
“Our extended partnership with ITV is fantastic news for Formula E fans across the UK and Ireland, ensuring that the thrill of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship remains free and accessible to the widest possible audience. With our largest calendar yet and the exciting conclusion of the GEN3 Evo era, we’re looking forward to delivering incredible action to millions of homes.”
The line-up of presenters, commentators and pundits for the new season will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
