Isack Hadjar has been disqualified from qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix after a technical infringement was identified on his car, the FIA stewards have confirmed.

The RB driver had initially secured a place in the top ten shootout, but was later excluded from the final classification after post-session checks revealed a breach of the technical regulations.

According to the FIA’s decision, both the left-hand side and right-hand side floor boards on Hadjar’s car were found to be protruding beyond the permitted reference volume by 2mm, in violation of Article C3.5.5 of the Formula 1 technical regulations .

The team did not dispute the findings of the FIA Technical Delegate, with the stewards applying the standard penalty for such an infringement, resulting in disqualification from the qualifying results.

As confirmed in the official final classification, Hadjar is listed as disqualified, removing him from the grid positions determined in qualifying .

However, despite the exclusion, the stewards have granted permission for Hadjar to take part in Sunday’s race.

Following a request from his team, the FIA confirmed that the driver would be allowed to start the Grand Prix, having set satisfactory lap times during practice sessions over the weekend .

In accordance with the regulations, Hadjar will start the race from the back of the grid.

The decision reshuffles the lower end of the top ten and promotes those behind him up one position, further tightening an already competitive midfield heading into race day.

With uncertainty already surrounding conditions for the Grand Prix, Hadjar now faces an uphill battle from the rear of the field as he looks to recover positions in what promises to be an unpredictable race in Miami.
